Changing the exit IP of a proxy node is an important function for ensuring privacy, bypassing geographic restrictions, and increasing network security. In this guide, we’ll detail how to change the IP in our proxy service for the proxy link you created.
Our proxies are designed in such a way that you connect to the Gateway server first, and then this server connect to the exit node. This setup allows you to control and select the exit node IP. The Gateway server will remain the same; the only change will be the login parameters in the proxy URL.
Why change proxy exit IP?
Changing proxy server output IP is necessary for a number of reasons:
- Privacy: replacing IP address allows hiding your real location and protects your personal information.
- Bypassing blocks: ability to change IP helps bypass content blocks restricted for certain regions or users.
- Testing in different regions: using proxy servers with changeable IP allows testing access to resources from different geographic points.
This function is especially useful for security specialists, marketers, as well as developers who work with restricted or geo-dependent services.
How to change proxy output IP
After the proxy server is set up, the system will generate a URL for use, which will look like this:
socks5://zFqZ6e-iso-ad-r-3041566-c-3041563-asn-6752-t-mrv-st-1440-tt-s-s-4rPBmF9zd:JtD0Wp@example.com:9090
Proxy link breakdown
Each element of the proxy link has meaning that helps accurately determine settings and connection parameters.
- zFqZ6e — unique proxy identifier (proxy-id ), which allows the system to recognize the user (you).
- iso-ad — country code indicating the country of proxy use.
- r-3041566 — region identifier where the proxy is set up.
- c-3041563 — city identifier for targeting.
- asn-6752 — ASN number (Autonomous System Number), which identifies the autonomous network.
- t-mrv — proxy type:
m— mobile,r— residential,v— mixed.
- st-1440 — session duration in minutes.
- tt-s — targeting type (strict).
- s-4rPBmF9zd — random string for session identification.
- JtD0Wp — authorization password.
- example.com — host that will be used for connection.
- 9090 — port for connection.
IP change process
After the proxy link is generated, to change the output IP, you need to send a GET request to the corresponding URL.
URL format:
https://api-url/changeip/proxy-id/session
Where:
proxy-id— your proxy’s unique identifier (e.g.,zFqZ6e).session— session identifier (e.g.,4rPBmF9zd).
Example request for IP change:
https://api-url/changeip/zFqZ6e/4rPBmF9zd
This request initiates IP change for the current session. It’s important that the proxy server supports API for IP change. In case of missing link, you can use our API for manual IP change.
Additional information
If for some reason you didn’t receive the URL for IP change, you can use the following API request format:
https://api-url/changeip/proxy-id/session
Where you need to specify proxy-id and session parameters to perform the operation.
Important notes:
- Make sure you send a GET request and don’t get an error in response.
- Proxy links and requests must be correctly formed for IP change to be successful.
If you have questions about setup or proxy server use, you can contact support.
Changing output IP through proxy is an important function for ensuring anonymity and security on the internet, as well as for effective bypassing of various blocks and restrictions. We recommend using this capability in accordance with your tasks and security requirements.
